Introduction to ePortfolios
The School of Nursing encourages students to develop an electronic portfolio. An eportfolio is the electronic documentation of a student’s work, education, and experiences while attending the School of Nursing at the University at Buffalo and represents their achievements and accomplishments.
A UB SON ePortfolio Microsoft template has been created for nursing students. This template is available as a download here.
There are specific documents that have been outlined for inclusion in ePortfolios for the UB School of Nursing. There are also additional examples of the types of documents to include in an eportfolio within the documentation section of the UB SON ePortfolio template. Instructions are available through the download page.
The following courses will require an ePortfolio to be initiated or updated:
NUR 373L, NUR 376, NUR 472, NUR 475
Each course will determine appropriate materials to be included in the eportfolio.
Examples include:
Resume
Fiscal Project
Economic Analysis
Community Assessment
Evidence Based Practice
Reflective Paper
Research Project
SPT Skill Lists
Certificates
Honors & Awards
Samples of completed ePortfolios from students at various colleges and universities can be found here.
