ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

A tremendous growth opportunity for aspiring leaders of nursing academia; the University at Buffalo School of Nursing invites nominations and applications for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The University at Buffalo, a research-intensive, AAU-affiliated university, is the largest and most comprehensive unit of the State University of New York system. The School of Nursing is one of five health science schools in the University, and offers degrees at the BS, MS and PhD level. The faculty are aggressively building the School’s research enterprise, as well as growing and restructuring its stellar academic programming. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs will have the opportunity to effect innovation and change. Responsibilities include providing leadership to the faculty in the implementation of the curriculum, which will include the development of the School’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program, mentoring faculty, providing counsel to the Dean, serving as chief executive officer in the absence of the Dean, representing the School on university, community and professional bodies, and collaborating with community agencies to create innovative partnerships.

The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs must be qualified to be appointed to the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Successful applicants must have a doctorate in nursing or related field; master’s in nursing with clinical specialty; demonstrated leadership and motivational skills and ability to work well with faculty, students, staff, and community partners; and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in New York. NURSE ANESTHESIA FACULTY POSITION

The School of Nursing of the University at Buffalo is seeking applicants for a tenured/tenure track or clinical track nurse anesthesia faculty position. The position offers exciting opportunities for professional growth in a health science center that emphasizes multi-professional care and opportunities for faculty clinical practice. Duties include: clinical and classroom instruction of nurse anesthesia graduate students; participation in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of advanced simulation sessions within the Patient Simulation Center; research; grant writing; and participation in committee activities with the School of Nursing and the Nurse Anesthesia Program.

Requirements are: doctorate degree, or doctorate eligible (degree within one year of employment) in Nursing or related field, CRNA certification, and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in New York. Three years nurse anesthesia instructional and/or clinical experience required. Experience with advanced anesthesia simulation techniques preferred. CLINICAL FACULTY AND
CLINICAL LAB COORDINATOR/CLINICAL FACULTY

The School of Nursing of the University at Buffalo is seeking applicants for clinical faculty positions and one 12 month position to coordinate our Clinical Skills Proficiency Labs.  We are looking for clinical faculty, both full and part-time to teach nursing at the undergraduate level in both the classroom and clinical setting.  Full-time faculty are expected to engage in clinical scholarship.  Based on expertise, possible additional teaching at the graduate level.  Engage in school, university, and community professional service. 

Requirements are:  Master’s degree in nursing with clinical specialty required.  2 years clinical experience in either the area of acute care or community health.  Eligible for licensure as New York State registered professional nurse.  Doctoral degree in nursing or related field is preferred.  Teaching certificate and/or experience preferred.
