Area of  Research:  Quality of life in resident centered care; Computer assisted patient simulation in the preparation of advanced practice nurses and symptom  management in COPD and asthma.

Teaching Responsibilities: 
Teach core and clinical specialty courses in the Adult Nurse Practitioner Program, Clinical Nurse Specialist, and Post- Masters Nurse Educator Programs.

Grant Awards:
Testing the feasibility of outcome measures for “Welcome Home” resident centered care, Beechwood Health Care Center.  Co- Project Director 2006-2007.  $18,000.

Preparation of clinical nurse specialists and nurse educators.  Funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration.  Project Director.  2003-2007. $1,320,967.

The effect of a CD-ROM on understanding and living with COPD in patient’s reported knowledge, self-efficacy perception of dyspnea, and quality of life, NHLBI, Field Study.  Project Chair, 2004-2005.  $57,000.
