The UB School of Nursing announces the re-establishment of an RN-BS Program
1/19/2012 5:55:35 PM by Donna Tyrpak

The University at Buffalo School of Nursing is pleased to announce the re-establishment of an RN-BS Program that may be completed in 12 months of ONLINE study.*

This program is designed specifically for nurses who have already successfully completed a community college (associate’s degree) or hospital based (diploma) nursing program, and have passed the State licensure exam (NCLEX-RN) for registered nurses (RN). This program both supplements and builds upon the core nursing knowledge and skills all RNs achieve prior to licensure.

Key attributes of the program:

·Student-centered and user friendly distance learning/asynchronous format that allows practicing nurses to attend school while continuing employment

·A program offered in a cohort format to ensure cost-effectiveness as well as facilitate achievement of learning outcomes

·A program that builds on the licensed RN’s previous education and experience without redundancy while mirroring the current traditional BS program curriculum

Clinical partners/organizations who wish to discuss guaranteed placement of their employees in any given cohort will need to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the School of Nursing (providing employees meet admission criteria).
