Respondus Instructions

INSTRUCTION UPDATE 07-18-2006
Respondus 3.5 is now available for download.

Steps for Installation and Update of Respondus.

• Obtain and install the full version of Respondus 3.5 from the
  UBlearns Course Website.

• Open Respondus. If this is the first time you are running it, you will be prompted for the following information:
  

  • Institution Name: University at Buffalo
    
  • Local Support Contact: ublearns@buffalo.edu
    
  • A new password will be required beginning August 1, 2007.  
    Click here to obtain new password key.
    

• Open a Respondus file.
• Click the Preview & Publish tab, then Publish to Blackboard in the left side navigation.
• Select 'Publish Wizard' icon
• Type of Publish - Select 'Publish to single course' option
• Via drop-down menu select - add new server -
• Enter: https://ublearns.buffalo.edu in the first box
• Open a browser and connect to: https://ublearns.buffalo.edu . Select 'Login', enter your UBIT username and password. Navigate to any course site and select control panel. Copy URL shown in address bar and paste URL into box 2 of Respondus setup.
• Click Extract.
• Clear 'Server Name, e.g. "bboard1.univ.edu" field and replace with: respondus.buffalo.edu
• 
• Click the Login type drop-down menu and choose PL-1.
• Enter the description "UBLEARNS" for the server in the Description box.
• Enter your username and password.
• Click Ok. You will be returned to the upload screen.
• Select the course in which to put the exam from the drop-down menu.
• Select 'Next'.
• You may be prompted to choose the content area to upload the exam to. Click the appropriate content area and click Next.
• Select 'Finish' to complete
