Dickerson, a member of the UB School of Nursing faculty since 1991, will serve a three-year term effective the fall 2017 semester through the conclusion of the 2019/2020 academic year.

The PRB is the faculty advisory body to the president and provost on matters of appointments, promotion and tenure at UB.

“It is an honor to serve on this vital committee with other members who rigorously and thoughtfully evaluate faculty dossiers with standards for achievement in the core areas of scholarship, teaching and service,” says Dickerson. “These recommendations contribute to the future of our university and faculty who serve.”

An alumna of the School of Nursing, Dickerson’s research focuses on patient/technology interactions, including studying patients with sleep apnea using Breathe2Sleep™, a web-based self–management program that provides practical advice for continuous positive airway pressure users.

Widely published, Dickerson has written more than 60 articles and book chapters. She has also received numerous honors and awards, including the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and UB Excellence in Graduate Student Mentoring in Research, as well as the School of Nursing Excellence in Research Award and the Mecca S. Cranley Award for Excellence in Teaching.
