Jungquist presents at ASPMN annual conference

University at Buffalo School of Nursing Assistant Professor Carla Jungquist co-presented at the American Society for Pain Management Nursing (ASPMN) 25th Annual National Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 19.

Jungquist, along with co-presenter J. Paul Curry, MD, presented "Monitoring for Opioid Induced Respiratory Depression: A Shift from Threshold to Trend Monitoring."  Also in attendance was Applied Statistical Analysis-Advanced Certificate student Rana Alameri, who presented "Massage Therapy to Reduce Pain in Immobilized Patients: Review of Literature and Theory of Mechanisms.”

ASPMN, which began in 1990 as a small group of RNs from six states, aims to advance and promote through education, advocacy and research best practices in nursing care for patients affected by pain.
