UB School of Nursing Juniors delivered health education to the 3 & 4 year olds from our local Head Start Programs at the Teddy Bear Clinic an annual event held in conjunction with “Give Kids a Smile Day” sponsored by the Dental School.

The event took place on Friday, February 1, 2013 in 105 Harriman Hall.  The nursing students taught the importance of frequent hand-washing and good nutrition among other health promotion topics to the over 250 children in attendance.

UB School of Nursing Students partnered with Briody Health Care System of Lockport, NY and the Lockport Community to produce a video for the PINK GLOVE Dance II Competition. Briody Health Care Owner and Administrator, Ann Briody Petock has generously offered to donate any prize money they receive to the UB School of Nursing to help support Breast Cancer Research conducted by UB Assistant Professor, Dr. Robin Lally.

On Saturday, May 12, Jacob Madonia and My Lan N. Le crossed the stage at the University at Buffalo's School of Nursing commencement to get their diplomas in the last leg of a marathon whose finish line must have seemed, at times, impossible to cross.

UB School of Nursing seniors, Shannon O’Leary and Shant’e White receive the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence.

Shannon O’Leary and Shant’e White senior nursing students at UB received the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Awards for Student Excellence at 2 separate ceremonies.  SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher conferred the awards at a ceremony on April 4, 2012 in Albany at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center.  UB President Satish Tripathi and UB Interim Provost Bruce McCombe presided over the Celebration of Academic Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Center for the Arts on Thursday, April 5, 2012.

The UB School of Nursing hosted a luncheon for honors students in Wende Hall on Monday, February 27, 2012.  The luncheon served to introduce the students to the research faculty and to discuss opportunities within the School of Nursing for both approved and intended nursing majors' students.
