Profile of Nursing Students

There are approximately 400 baccalaureate students enrolled in UB's School of Nursing (SON). Approximately 25% are minority students.

Each year approximately 20% of bachelor’s graduates entered graduate programs. Data are not available on the number of students who go on to doctoral studies.

There are approximately 200 students enrolled in various masters programs (including, nurse practitioner specialties in adult, family, geriatric, neonatal, pediatric, psychiatric, women's health care; adult clinical nurse specialist; and nurse anesthetist) within the SON. Of those, 14.7% are minority.

We have graduated 53 students from our Doctor of Nursing Science program since 1986. The focus of the doctoral program is now the PhD. Thirty four students have been admitted to the PhD program since 2004.
