The Nursing Computer Lab has been designed for the use and needs of the
School of Nursing and Public Health & Health Professions students at UB.
The lab is located on the ground floor of Kimball Tower.
The primary function of this lab is to facilitate instruction and research.
The computer lab is staffed with consultants who provide assistance to both students and faculty.
Hours of Operation
Open hours are usually posted outside of the computer lab and in the elevators one week before the beginning of each semester. Changes due to holidays, semester breaks, and summer vacation will be posted in these locations as well.

Printing
Printing is available from each computer workstation for most programs.
Computer Lab Rules
All students are required to sign-in upon entering the lab.
In order to provide a neat and clean atmosphere, food and beverage are prohibited in the lab. Violators will be asked to remove food/beverage or leave the lab.
Students should only use printers to print one copy of their work. Students needing additional copies should use the student copy machine.
Students should be considerate of other students working in the lab and should practice working as quietly as possible without disturbing others.
Closing Policy
The Lab Consultants will inform all students at least 30 minutes prior to closing.
Students should start preparing to complete all work at least 10 minutes before closing.
All Students should properly shut down the computers after completing your work.
References and Help
Students who need assistance during the course of their studies while in the Nursing Program can take advantage of the many facilities that provide computer support. The Lab has several options to offer.
An online help function within the software is provided in most computer programs.
Lab Consultants will offer assistance to students experiencing difficulties.
Computing and Information Technology (CIT) has a help desk for setting up
UBIT (Unix) accounts and answering other related problems.
It is located in 214 Lockwood, Lockwood 2nd Floor Cybrary.
