This page is specifically geared toward the advisement needs of UB intended and approved nursing majors.
School of Nursing's Student Services team is located in Beck Hall on South Campus.
Academic advising appointments, in person or by phone, may be scheduled by emailing nursing@buffalo.edu. Please provide your phone number and someone will return your call and schedule your appointment. Priority for appointments will be given to current and newly admitted UB students. Make sure you have your UB person number available when you call. If you have quick questions please email your advisor or nursing@buffalo.edu rather than making an appointment.
We encourage all UB intended nursing majors to attend a group registration advisement session. Interactive sessions are offered for Planning your Next Semester and/or Preparing to Apply in Spring. Attendance fulfills all advisement requirements, including Finish in Four.
Current students should check their UBlearns course regarding these sessions. (Note: Look for "Advisement-Intended Nursing Majors" in your UBlearns course list.)
Students who are unable to attend one of the group sessions may make an individual advisement appointment by calling the Student Services Office at 716-829-3350 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you are directed to voicemail, please leave a message and someone will return your call.
At the School of Nursing we do not assign advisors, rather, we take a team approach to advisement. The entire advisement staff is trained to advise all undergraduate nursing students. Please note that it is the student's responsibility to seek advisement. Those participating in the Finish in Four program are required to meet with an advisor or attend a group advisement session each semester.

Intended nursing majors are UB students who are working on prerequisite coursework and preparing to apply to the nursing program (upper division). Students can apply once they have met the minimum course requirements and the minimum GPA requirements. Most intended nursing majors typically apply for the Traditional BS program in the spring semester of their sophomore year. Graduating seniors (in other majors) can apply for the ABS program during the fall semester of their senior year.
Approved nursing majors are UB students who have been officially accepted into the nursing program to begin upper division course work. If you are an approved nursing major, please sign up for advising below.
