Event Details

As we celebrate our university’s 175th anniversary, the University is inviting our 2020 graduates back to campus for an in-person commencement ceremony October 1 in Alumni Arena during Homecoming Weekend.

While the COVID-19 pandemic required us to hold our 2020 commencement exercises in a virtual format, we are thrilled to now have this opportunity to safely honor our 2020 graduates in a manner befitting their accomplishments — at UB, in their regalia, walking the stage and sharing in this happy occasion with family, friends and classmates.

This ceremony is intended and scheduled only for graduates who were originally eligible for the 2020 Commencement ceremony that was held virtually in May 2020.

Graduating students must register by Friday, September 27, 2021. All eligible students are invited to participate in the ceremony and should register using the link below.

Cap and gown information

Information about cap and gown ordering is available on the University’s commencement site. It is imperative that you order your cap and gown as soon as possible if you are planning to take part in the event.

Guests and tickets

Tickets are required for all guests attending the ceremony.  Each registered graduate will receive 2 guest tickets. Additional tickets may be available at a later time, depending on registration counts and current COVID guidelines.  Additional information for guests can be found on the UB Commencement.
