Research Study on Breastfeeding: Volunteers Needed

Are you in the third trimester of pregnancy and interested in breastfeeding your baby? Are you taking methadone or buprenorphine (Subutex)? You will receive Visa gift cards in return for sharing your experiences with a nurse.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Are pregnant
  • Are taking methadone or buprenorphine (Subutex) for opioid addiction
  • Are not currently using drugs or medications that aren’t prescribed for you

Participation involves:

  • Meeting with a nurse researcher by phone or video call before you have your baby
  • Meeting with a nurse researcher by phone or video call four times while you are breastfeeding

Potential benefits:

Participating in this study may help nurses and other health care professionals provide better care in the future. We will also use what we learn from this study to create better resources to help women who would like to breastfeed while on opioid maintenance therapy.

Location:

This study will take place by phone or video call. You do not have to be at a specific location.

Compensation:

Participants will be compensated.
