The Traditional BS in Nursing program only begins in the Fall (Late August). The next term you can apply for is the Fall 2025 start term (with a May 2027 expected graduation) if you have all the admission requirements (prerequisite courses and GPAs) met by the 1/15/2025 application deadline. In early December 2024, the program in NursingCAS will become available. If you need assistance planning the completion of your prerequisite courses please contact our office or use our transcript evaluation service. High school students are not eligible to submit the NursingCAS application and instead should review Freshman Admission and UB Honor's College Dual Admission.
Current UB students only need to submit the NursingCAS application. If you have any transfer coursework or test credit, make sure your HUB student center reflects all transfer credit.
If you are not currently attending UB as a degree-seeking student, you must apply to both the University at Buffalo and the School of Nursing by submitting two applications (UB application and NursingCAS application) and official transcripts from all schools attended. We recommend that you submit your UB application and official transcripts early to ensure sufficient time to evaluate your courses. Admission to the University at Buffalo does not guarantee admission to the School of Nursing Traditional Program. If you plan to complete most of your prerequisites at UB and apply to the upper division nursing program later when you have met all the admission requirements, you only need to complete step 1 at this time.
Incoming freshman applicants are not eligible to submit the School of Nursing NursingCAS application. The Traditional Nursing Program is an upper division program that consists of two years of prerequisite courses and two years of nursing curriculum. Once students have completed most of the prerequisite courses, they may apply directly to the School of Nursing (typically during their sophomore year in college).
