Assistant Dean for MS/DNP Programs and Clinical Professor Tammy Austin-Ketch, PhD, RN, FNP-C, FAANP, was honored as the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year for Education at the 5th Annual March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards Gala in Rochester, New York, on Friday, September 18, 2015.

The March of Dimes Foundation was founded nearly 80 years ago to combat polio and has since evolved its mission to "improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

March of Dimes Nurse of the Year events pay tribute to notable nurses for their exceptional contributions to the field. These events take place in select communities across the country with a reception, banquet and awards presentation.  

Austin-Ketch's areas of research include cancer survivorship, vulnerable health populations, metabolic syndrome, and stress disorders and the impact they exert on overall health status.
