Dr. Porock named Distinguished Australian Alumni

Davina Porock, PhD, RN, Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship has been awarded the Distinguished Australian Alumni Award from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Western Australia.

This prestigious award is given to Curtin graduates who are making significant contributions to society. Consideration for this honor is based on an individual’s community engagement, innovation, entrepreneurship, international engagement and overall career achievements. Porock has been recognized for her vast body of research focusing on person-centered care and care of elders with dementia and other life limiting conditions. In addition to her leadership position in the UB School of Nursing, Porock also serves as the Director of UB's Institute for Person-Centered Care, an international institute designed to provide better delivery of services to those with physical frailty and cognitive impairment focusing on providing support, advocacy and public awareness of their needs.  “I am absolutely thrilled to receive this award.
