Darryl Somayaji, PhD, RN, CNS, CCRC, associate professor in the School of Nursing, was welcomed to the first cohort of Dimitriadis Research Mentoring Fellows for the 2015-16 academic year.

Somayaji's proposed program includes community-based research in cancer survivorship in collaboration with UB Family Medicine Practice and Jericho Road Community Health Center, along with her mentors.

The Gregory J. Dimitriadis Research Mentoring Fellowship honors the legacy of Greg Dimitriadis (1969-2014), Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy in the UB Graduate School of Education, and founding member of the Civic Engagement and Public Policy (CEPP) Faculty Advisory Committee.  

The fellowship is available UB researchers and faculty who collaborate with a community partner to confront issues of social justice, equity and public policy.
