UB Nursing Alumna receives Jordan Oncology Society Award

Rana Obeidat, PhD '12 received the "Jordan Best Paper Award-Hikma Award" at the 9th Annual Jordan Oncology Society Conference held in Amman, Jordan this past October of 2014.
Obeidat presented a paper that she wrote while attending UB entitled, "Shared decision making among individuals with cancer in non-Western cultures: A literature review, Oncology Nursing Forum, 40(5), 454-463, published September, 2013" and co-authored by Robin Lally, associate professor, UB School of Nursing and Dr. Gregory G. Homish, associate professor, UB School of Public Health and Health Professions. The award was sponsored by Hikma Drug company of Jordan. More than 200 papers were reviewed with seven chosen for awards, 6 physicians and Obeidat, a nurse researcher.
