"The key to successful teaching is in student engagement. If students are engaged, they are listening, actively participating and generally care about doing well. As a proponent of student engagement, my tendency is toward active and experiential learning -- I truly believe students learn best by 'doing.'  I also am fully supportive of using technology to increase student engagement and active learning. It is so gratifying to have a student come back and tell me they encountered an emergency situation in the clinical setting and were able to handle it because of what they learned in simulation."
