Meet Terrika Pereira, BS '18, RN

"One experience that shaped my undergraduate career at UB was the opportunity for me to be a research assistant for one of the professors in the UB School of Nursing. It was helpful in that I was able to develop relationships with professors in the School of Nursing, travel to conferences to present research and develop my critical thinking skills, which is helpful as a registered nurse and current graduate student.

"My favorite courses at UB SON were the main courses during senior year – Health Maintenance and Restoration, and Complex Acute Care. I enjoyed the lab that was connected with each of these courses; the hands-on experiences of practicing dressing changes, 'starting IVs' and simulation experiences truly made nursing school exciting. 

My advice for incoming students would be to take your studies seriously! Know that it will take hard work and dedication on your part, but the end result will be worth it."
