*The first time the Comprehensive Predictor will be offered in the beginning of the Spring Senior final semester. The second time it will be offered at the end of the Spring Senior final semester. Students who score lower than a 90% probability of passing the NCLEX on the first proctored assessment, must take the 2nd assessment. The higher of the two scores will be used as the final grade.

**Attending the 3-day ATI NCLEX-RN live review that is scheduled the last week of the senior spring semester is a requirement for the nursing program. Not attending the live review may result in the student’s inability to graduate. This live review is held the week of graduation and students must attend.

ATI testing is the integrated testing package that is used throughout the curriculum.  The ATI assignments and proctored assessment(s) will be worth varying percentages in courses as outlined in the table above, specific information on grading is located in the Graded Learning Activities section of course syllabi. Proctored Assessments and graded ATI activities must be completed in order to complete the course and progress in the nursing program. ATI Proctored Assessments will not exceed 10% of a course grade.

Guidelines for Successful Completion of Content Mastery Proctored Assessments

  • It is the responsibility of each student to review each course schedule, syllabus and assignment section in UB learns for specific information related to due dates, times, and submission details.
  • Preparation for the proctored assessments includes review of the ATI content mastery textbooks on the students’ ATI learn page and all other course related material.
  • Step 1 - Complete one ATI Practice Assessment (A or B) with a score of at least 75% - the assessment can be retaken until the 75% has been reached.
  • Step 2 - Complete the corresponding focus review of at least 2 hours. It is recommended that the focus review be completed using the first practice assessment (the one with the lower score). The two hour focus review should be completed in totality on one of the practice assessments if practice assessment repeated.
  • Step 3 - Take the proctored assessment in class.
  • Step 4 - Complete the corresponding focus review according to the proficiency level attained.

Submission guidelines (NOTE: ONLY TRANSCRIPTS WILL BE ACCEPTED)

  • Submit the transcript that has the score of the practice assessment with a score of at least 75% and the focus review hours according to due date and time.
  • Submit the transcript that has the proficiency level of your proctored assessment and the corresponding focus review hours.
  • A transcript must be submitted even if a proficiency level 3 is achieved on the proctored assessment and no focus review is required.

Scoring for courses that have 1 proctored assessment for 10% of the grade (NOTE: ONLY TRANSCRIPTS WILL BE ACCEPTED)

  • Submission of transcript that includes practice assessment (with a score of at least 75%) information and at least 2 hours of focus review according to due date and time – 4 points
  • If practice assessment completed according to guidelines, but focus review not completed – 2 points
  • If practice assessment AND focus review not completed according to guidelines – 0 points
  • Submission of transcript that contains proctored assessment proficiency score and focus review required hours see table below:

Completion of Comprehensive Predictor

This 180-item test offers an assessment of the students’ comprehension and mastery of the basic ATI assessments from the Content Mastery Series. The ATI Comprehensive Predictor Exam is an exam for students to predict % of success on the NCLEX-RN. Scores are calculated using a comprehensive score that is correlated to a % probability of passing NCLEX-RN. For example, if the student scores between 80.7 and 100% there is a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX.  This test will generate an Individual Score (% correct) and Predicted Probability to Pass the NCLEX-RN.  The student has 240 minutes (4 Hours) to complete this assessment.  The Comprehensive Predictor will be scheduled two times.  The first time it will be scheduled towards the beginning of the Spring Senior final semester.  The second time (Comprehensive Predictor Retake 1) it will be scheduled towards the end of the Spring Senior final semester for students and is required for students who score below a 90% possibility of passing NCLEX.

Step 1: Comprehensive Predictor

  • Step 1 - Complete one ATI Practice Assessment (A or B) with a score of at least 70% - the assessment can be retaken until the 70% has been reached.
Guidelines
*Completion of Practice Assessment with individual score 70% or > by the due date and time.
Completion and submission of a minimum 2-hour Focused Review on initial attempt by the due date and time.

Step 2: Proctored Assessment

  • ATI Testing will begin promptly at the posted date and time – students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the assessment.
  • At the discretion of the faculty, students who arrive late, may or may not be able to reschedule the proctored assessment and will receive a 0 for that assessment.
  • Once proctored assessment is completed note Predicted Possibility of Passing the NCLEX and corresponding RN Comprehensive Predictor Individual Score.

Step 3: Focus Review Based on Predictability of Passing NCLEX

  • Must be completed within 1 week of taking the proctored assessment and transcript uploaded to UB Learns according to due date and time to receive the extra point(s).  If the transcript is not submitted according to due date and time with the required information (proficiency level and number of hours spent on focus review) and/or the student did not complete the required number of focus review hours, the student will not receive an extra point. A transcript must be submitted even if a focus review is not required.   NOTE: ONLY TRANSCRIPTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Step 4: Comprehensive Predictor Retake 1 (towards end of semester)

  • Students who score below 90% Probability of Passing the NCLEX on the first Comprehensive Predictor must repeat steps 1-3 above using the Comprehensive Predictor Practice Assessment that was not previously completed. If Practice A was previously completed, use Practice B for the retake. If Practice B was previously completed, use Practice A for the retake.
  • The higher score from the two attempts will be the final scores.
  • Students who wish to improve their Comprehensive Predictor Proctored Assessment 1 can repeat Steps 1-3 voluntarily. The higher of the two scores will be the final score.
