*The first time the Comprehensive Predictor will be offered in the beginning of the Spring Senior final semester.  The second time it will be offered at the end of the Spring Senior final semester. Students who score lower than a 90% probability of passing the NCLEX on the first proctored assessment, must take the 2nd assessment.  The higher of the two scores will be used as the final grade.

**Attending the 3-day ATI NCLEX-RN live review that is scheduled the last week of the senior spring semester is a requirement for the nursing program. Not attending the live review may result in the student’s inability to graduate. This live review is held the week of graduation and students must attend.

ATI testing is the integrated testing package that is used throughout the curriculum.  The ATI assignments and proctored assessment(s) will be worth varying percentages in courses as outlined in the table above, specific information on grading is located in the Graded Learning Activities section of course syllabi. Proctored Assessments and graded ATI activities must be completed in order to complete the course and progress in the nursing program. ATI Proctored Assessments will not exceed 10% of a course grade.

Guidelines for Successful Completion of Content Mastery Proctored Assessments

It is the responsibility of each student to review each course schedule, syllabus and assignment section on UB learns for specific information related to due dates and times of each step of the Practice and Proctored Assessment Process.  Students must prepare for the scheduled Proctored Assessments through study of the course-related textbook and materials, ATI Textbooks, and thorough completion of unsecured, non-proctored Practice Assessments in ATI (each practice assessment is approximately 60-70 questions).

Step 1: Practice Assessment/Focus Review Completion

  • Complete corresponding Practice Assessment (A or B) two weeks prior to the Proctored Assessment due date.  Rationales will be turned off for this assessment and the student must achieve a score of 75% or better to complete this step. The Practice Assessment must be repeated until the score of 75% has been achieved.
  • Complete corresponding Focus Review (2 hour minimum) on the initial practice assessment one week prior to the Proctored Assessment date and submit the ATI Transcript to UB learns according to due date and time. The transcript is found under My Results of the ATI Student Home Page. The transcript must list the date and score of Practice assessment and number of hours spent in focus review. Once the faculty has verified focus reviews are complete, the rationales will be turned back on for students to see the answers and rationales. If the transcript, displaying the date of practice assessment and time spent on focus review (2 hour minimum) is not submitted to UB Learns by the due date and time the student will not receive any points for the practice assessment or focus review and receive a 0 on the Proctored Assessment, but still must complete the Proctored Assessment and submit the focus review.
  • The maximum amount that ATI can be worth in any class is 10% of your grade.  Therefore, if there are two ATI exams on one course, each will be worth 5%.
  • Students will earn points according to the table below if practice assessment and focus review are submitted according to guidelines:
For Courses That Have One ATI Exam
Completion of Practice Assessment with Score 75% or > by the due date and time.
Completion and submission of Minimum of 2-hour Focused Review on Initial Attempt by the due date and time.

Step 2: Proctored Assessment

  • ATI Testing will begin promptly at the scheduled date and time – students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the assessment.
  • At the discretion of the faculty, students who arrive late, may or may not be able to reschedule the proctored assessment and will receive a 0 for that assessment.

Step 3: Focus Review

  • Must be completed within 1 week of taking the proctored assessment and transcript uploaded to UB Learns according to due date and time to receive the extra point.  If the transcript is not submitted according to due date and time with the required information (number of hours spent on focus review) and/or the student did not complete the required number of focus review hours, the student will not receive an extra point. A transcript must be submitted even if a focus review is not required.
  • Complete focus review according to the following tables:

Comprehensive Predictor

This 180-item test offers an assessment of the students’ comprehension and mastery of the basic ATI assessments from the Content Mastery Series. The ATI Comprehensive Predictor Exam is an exam for students to predict % of success on the NCLEX-RN. Scores are calculated using a comprehensive score that is correlated to a % probability of passing NCLEX-RN. For example, if the student scores between 80.7 and 100% there is a 99% chance of passing the NCLEX.  This test will generate an Individual Score (% correct) and Predicted Probability to Pass the NCLEX-RN.  The student has 240 minutes (4 Hours) to complete this assessment.  The Comprehensive Predictor will be scheduled two times.  The first time it will be scheduled towards the beginning of the Spring Senior final semester.  The second time (Comprehensive Predictor Retake 1) it will be scheduled towards the end of the Spring Senior final semester for students and is required for students who score below a 90% possibility of passing NCLEX.

Step 1: Comprehensive Predictor Practice Assessment/Focus Review Completion

  • Complete corresponding Practice Assessment (A or B) two weeks prior to the Proctored Assessment due date.  Rationales will be turned off for this assessment and the student must achieve a score of 70% or better to complete this step. The Practice Assessment must be repeated until the score of 70% has been achieved.
If the transcript, displaying the date of practice assessment and time spent on focus review (2 hour minimum) is not submitted to UB learns by the due date and time the student will not receive any points for the practice assessment or focus review and receive a 0 on the Proctored Assessment, but still must complete the Proctored Assessment.
  • The maximum amount that ATI can be worth in any class is 10% of your grade.  Therefore, if there are two ATI exams on one course, each will be worth 5%.
  • Submission of transcript which displays the date of practice assessment and score (must be completed according to stated due date and time) and hours spent in focus review must be submitted to UB learns according to due date and time even if a focus review is not required. If practice assessment and/or focus review are not submitted according to due date or time the student will not receive points for the practice assessment or the focus review.  Students will earn points according to the table below if practice assessment and focus review are submitted according to guidelines:
Guidelines
*Completion of Practice Assessment with individual score 70% or > by the due date and time.
Completion and submission of a Minimum 2-hour Focused Review on initial attempt by the due date and time.

Step 2: Proctored Assessment

  • ATI Testing will begin promptly at the posted date and time – students should arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the assessment.
  • At the discretion of the faculty, students who arrive late, may or may not be able to reschedule the proctored assessment and will receive a 0 for that assessment.
  • Once proctored assessment is completed note Predicted Possibility of Passing the NCLEX and corresponding RN Comprehensive Predictor Individual Score.

Step 3: Focus Review Based on Predictability of Passing NCLEX

  • Must be completed within 1 week of taking the proctored assessment and transcript uploaded to UB Learns according to due date and time to receive the extra point(s).  If the transcript is not submitted according to due date and time with the required information (number of hours spent on focus review) and/or the student did not complete the required number of focus review hours, the student will not receive an extra point. A transcript must be submitted even if a focus review is not required.

Step 4: Comprehensive Predictor Retake 1 (towards end of semester)

  • Students who score below 90% Probability of Passing the NCLEX on the first Comprehensive Predictor must repeat steps 1-3 above using the Comprehensive Predictor Practice Assessment B. The higher of the 2 scores will be the final scores.
  • Students who wish to improve their Comprehensive Predictor Proctored Assessment 1 can repeat Step 1-3 voluntarily. The higher of the two scores will be the final score.
