School of Nursing Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Studies Catherine M. Mann, EdD, RN, CNS, CNE, was selected to participate in the 2021-2022 cohort of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Elevating Leaders in Academic Nursing Program (ELAN).
“I am looking forward to participating in the ELAN fellowship through AACN,” Mann says. “The program will provide me with additional tools to serve in my assistant dean role and UB as I advance my leadership competencies and broaden mentorship and networking relationships.”
ELAN is designed for aspiring deans and senior faculty in leadership roles. The program provides participants with a focused assessment experience, a range of content and exercises related to successful executive leadership, and the opportunity to establish a peer network that fosters long-term partnerships and collegial support.
The year-long fellowship kicks off with an in-person, week-long workshop where participants
will take advantage of a leadership immersion, which includes peer coaching, team-building and advanced simulations. After the on-site event, participants will have access to an online community, e-learning workshops, peer group discussions, among other opportunities.
