Deanna Schneider has been privileged to practice in pediatrics for almost the entirety of her nursing career. She obtained her BSN from Niagara University in 2003, her MSN as a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner from Columbia in 2010, and her DNP as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner from Rush University in 2017. She has extensive pediatric clinical experience in oncology, palliative care and critical care. Dr. Schneider has been a faculty member at the Columbia University School of Nursing since 2018, where she has developed a special interest in the use of simulation in the education of nurse practitioner students. She relocated to her hometown of Buffalo, NY, to start the PNP Program at the University at Buffalo School of Nursing. She has lectured on a variety of pediatric topics across the country and has been published in The Journal of Pediatric Health Care and several textbooks, including Pediatric Diagnostic Labs: A Primary Care Approach and the upcoming 9th edition of Burns’ Pediatric Primary Care. She resides in both Buffalo, NY and New York City where she maintains a faculty practice in pediatric critical care.  When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, training for her next marathon and cheering on the Sabres and Bills.
