I’ve worked in health care for several years in a business role at a home care agency. My interactions with clients and their families inspired me to do more to help people and make a difference in the community. Nursing seemed like the best fit for me, and after three years of coursework, I graduated with an associate’s degree in nursing.
My first bachelor’s degree was completed through University at Buffalo, and I enjoyed my experience at this prestigious university. Embarking on the path to earn my bachelor's in nursing at UB was the best option to continue my education and build on my foundations as a RN.
I am most interested in critical care, ER, and transplant, as well garnering more experience in med-surg. I would eventually like to participant in nursing research as well. I like a fast paced environment where I can make a difference, improve outcomes and save lives.
I just graduated from NCCC with high distinction and an overall GPA of 3.94. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and a member of the WNY Professional Nursing Association. I was also elected by my fellow classmates to speak at the pinning ceremony. I enjoy working out, spending time outdoors and socializing with friends.
After graduation, I would like to continue to advance in my career as an RN. It’s very possible I will go on to pursue a master’s degree so I can teach or become a nurse practitioner. I would also like to become fluent in Spanish.
I look forward to representing UB in the field of nursing.
