I want to touch lives. I lost a lot of relatives at an early age and I want to be able to show the same compassion and gratitude the nurses showed my family during that time. Taking care of people and making them feel better is something I love to do.
The University at Buffalo School of Nursing has many curriculum options for students. I have heard such good reviews of the programs offered and it is well respected in the community.
I am interested in oncology, specifically hematology and behavioral health (detox and rehabilitation). I currently work at the inpatient leukemia service at Roswell Park; I love the culture, work ethic and the team I work with. They are all amazing individuals that have helped me through school and most importantly have touched the lives of so many patients and families day in and day out.
Currently, I volunteer with the Bennett Wells American Auxiliary Post #1750. We serve veterans in the WNY area and distribute hygiene bags to them monthly.
Eventually, I would like to relocate to a larger city and pursue a DNP degree with focused research on stem cell transplants outcomes among African Americans with sickle cell anemia or AML.
