I decided to become a nurse after working in health care for a few years, but having my options limited in the services was able to provide to others. I realized that I enjoy working directly with others, but needed to further my education to be able to help others on a more profound level.
I selected UB for nursing due to its reputation of having a very successful program and affordability. Also, the nursing advisors were extremely organized and helpful!
I am most interested in pediatrics due to my previous experience working with children. I’ve spent many years working with children in schools, care management and babysitting
My personal hobbies include exercising such as hiking, running, walking, yoga, volleyball, dancing, football and all types of sports! I also enjoy traveling, journaling, praying, volunteering, baking, and spending time with family and friends.
Post-graduation, I would like to be a pediatric nurse and also be a travel nurse. Ultimately, I would like to bring everything I learn from my experiences back to the Buffalo area to foster the development of an organization in need.
Receiving the scholarship will impact my education by allowing me to fully apply myself in the nursing curriculum. It will contribute to my completion of coursework and assignments that reflect my highest potential. Taking a smaller loan to cover school costs will reduce my stress as I partake in the rigorous coursework demanded from the Accelerated Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing Program. The scholarship will allow me to have additional time to dedicate to studying and thereby become a more knowledgeable nurse. Moreover, the scholarship’s contribution to my academic success will then help me be as prepared as possible when entering the nursing profession.
