Why I Chose UB

UB’s School of Nursing has an increasing interest in better understanding the environmental influences on public health. My research interests are well-aligned with Dr. Daniel Smith’s research area. Currently, nationwide, there are not many nurse scientists focused on environmental health research. Tackling environmental health problems requires adopting a team approach through interdisciplinary collaboration. UB School of Nursing has strong connections campus-wide and among the local community. Their collaborative spirit affords ample research opportunities, specifically in determining how the environment affects health and contributes to disease.
