Scholarships & Fellowships

Some scholarships require the submission of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR identifies your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and must be included to be considered for certain need-based scholarships.

Please note that School of Nursing scholarships are awarded separately through the Office of Student Services.

Graduate Opportunity Program (GOP)

Former EOP, HEOP, and SEEK students who have not completed a graduate program.

Standard in-state tuition rate for a full time student ($5,565 per semester as of 2019-20)

Arthur A. Schomburg Fellowship Program

New entry doctoral students who can demonstrate that they would contribute to the diversity of the student body. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Ongwe’onwe/Indigenous Student Scholarship

Full-time students in good academic standing who are one of the following:

  • A certified/enrolled citizen of a U.S. federally recognized nation or tribe.
  • A child or grandchild of an enrolled U.S. federally recognized NYS Six Nations/Haudenosaunee Nation citizen, that resides in the USA, outside of NYS.
  • Have a Canadian Indian status for one of the Haudenosaunee nations (Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, or Tuscarora).

Should there be a reduction in non-resident tuition, your merit scholarship will be prorated accordingly to ensure your net price remains fixed.

Internally funded grant recipients are limited to $1,500.00 in conference travel per year.
