A record crowd of nearly 1,500 guests joined the ECMC Community in celebrating the difference between healthcare and true care.

Three outstanding contributors to the ECMC Community were honored at the Lifeline Foundation Springfest 2014 Gala held on May 10th including UB alumna Karen Ziemianski, RN, MS '88 as the Nurse of Distinction for 2014.  Other honorees included Robert Gioia, recognized as the Distinguished Service Professional and Dr. Joseph Kowalski recognized as the Distinguished Physician.  

The Distinguished Nursing Award is presented each year to a nursing professional recognized for his/her leadership and commitment to the ECMC community. 

Karen stated, “This award epitomizes compassionate care.  I am so proud to accept for all front line staff at ECMC.”  Karen is currently the Senior Vice President of Nursing at the Erie County Medical Center.
