Join us in welcoming internationally-known nurse leader Loretta Ford, EdD, PNP, RN, FAAN, FAANP, who is credited with transforming the nursing profession and health care delivery by co-founding the nurse practitioner model in the 1960s.

Ford also piloted the first pediatric nurse practitioner model of advanced practice, which has been replicated in many other nursing specialties. She became the founding dean of the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 1972, and was also inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 2011. Ford is the recipient of several prestigious awards and honors, and has published and presented extensively on the nurse practitioner movement.
