Regmi was born in Bhutan but forced to leave when he was seven years old; he then spent 17 years in a refugee camp in Nepal. His experiences in the refugee camp inspired Regmi to pursue a career in the health care field. Regmi came to the U.S. 10 years ago and received his FNP from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in 2017. He is now a nurse practitioner in the Optum & Mohawk Valley Health System.

Regmi is a passionate advocate for the refugee population and serves as a medical interpreter for the Nepali refugee community. He and his wife also organize charitable events each year, including breast cancer awareness programs, voting awareness seminars and disease prevention programs.
