Operating Room Simulation

Nursing students in blue scrubs perform a simulated surgical procedure in an operating room, observed from a control room.

The School of Nursing operating room provides high fidelity simulation experiences for nurse anesthesia students to build and improve skills with the guidance of expert faculty.

Hands-on experience that builds confidence.

Our Operating Room Simulation provides nurse anesthetist students with hands-on experience in a safe, high-tech environment that prepares them for clinical, educational, research and leadership roles in this advanced nursing specialty.

Equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and gas-delivery systems, the simulated operating room supports the surgical and resuscitative care of a high-fidelity, full-body mannequin. Students use this immersive setting throughout their training to practice clinical procedures, refine their skills, and build confidence in managing both routine and critical care scenarios.

By integrating basic and advanced simulation training, this facility allows students to develop expertise in anesthesia care and crisis management, ensuring they are well-prepared for real-world patient care.
