This year, School of Nursing Dean Marsha L. Lewis served as chair of the University at Buffalo Employees Campaign for the Community.  The SON, through the overwhelming support of our current faculty, staff, emeriti and other retirees, has surpassed our fundraising goals and increased the number of individual contributors. Several from our SON “family” shared their personal stories of how donations directly impacted them and their loved ones, while others revealed support for specific campaign charities.

“Listening to stories of how so many have been touched by our support was extremely gratifying. ”

The overall campaign has been a monumental success with a number of schools, offices and departments within the university exceeding their target. This is a testament to the generosity of our employees, as well as the passionate efforts of the campaign committee members who worked tirelessly on this appeal.

The UB Employees Campaign for the Community has been held as an annual event in the fall for 39 years. All university employees and retirees are offered the opportunity to contribute to human services, educational, environmental and cultural charitable organizations worldwide. Historically, over 80 percent of the money raised through the campaign has been designated for agencies in the Buffalo-Niagara region.

This effort is the largest employee giving campaign in New York State and is consistently ranked as one of the top five in the nation.

Thank you to all who have supported our community with their contributions.
