Raines’ article, “Idea to Publication: Sharing Your Clinical Innovations,” highlights the importance of nurses and clinical leaders – who are actively involved in evidence-based innovations in care and practice – communicating and sharing ideas via publication. Raines explains that writing about and publishing work makes ideas more accessible to others in the field, reiterating that this is a professional responsibility and improves both nursing practice and patient outcomes.

“Sharing the projects and innovations of nurses in the clinical setting is important,” says Raines. “Nurse experts and clinical leaders need to share how the scientific foundation of nursing practice is being applied and translated in the practice setting.”

Raines also provides several writing tips and strategies for nurses.
