Why UB?

I chose UB because I know it is one of the top universities. UB offers so many opportunities for learning. Everyone has been extremely helpful in assisting me with reaching my goals by being so encouraging.

Activities and Accolades

After graduating from high school, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from University at Albany. I was not exactly sure where to go from there after I graduated. I took some graduate courses at SUNY Albany with the intention of enrolling in the graduate program to study epidemiology. However, after some courses, I realized I wanted to work more closely with people. I was accepted into the nursing program at Hudson Valley Community College. I graduated from the nursing program with an associate of applied science in nursing and started classes at UB in the RN-BS program without delay. I have been working in a hospital in the critical care setting as a registered nurse for four months now. Previously, I have worked as a health home care manager at a residential treatment facility for children.

What's Next

My plan is to finish this RN to BS program at UB while I am working full time as an RN in the hospital. I want to apply into a Nurse Practitioner program.

Grateful

This scholarship has helped me by allowing me to focus more on my education. It has alleviated some of the financial burden of paying for school and taking out loans. I am able to focus on my future goals and plans instead of worrying about finances.
