Nurse Anesthetist Program Interview Process
Congratulations on being selected to interview for the Nurse Anesthetist Program.
Interview Topics
Applicants will be interviewed by faculty and complete a short quiz. The interview will likely cover the following topics:
- Critical care experiences
- Critical care pharmaceuticals
- Health care initiatives
- Advanced practice nursing: the practice of nurse anesthesia
- Understanding of the DNP
- The UB School of Nursing mission
Note: Interviews may cover additional topics.
Selecting an Interview
- Use the below links to select one interview option. Note: each slot is limited to three applicants.
- Interviews are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. If a slot is full, you will receive a notification and need to select another date.
- All interviews are in person. Virtual interviews are not available this cycle.
- You will receive an email with your interview details after signing up.

The program admits 24 students each year. Waitlist size varies by application cycle.
No. The University at Buffalo does not disclose individual positions on the waitlist.
Possibly. Depending on course availability, students may take one or two courses before matriculation. Availability varies by semester and is not guaranteed.
Classes for the 2025 cohort begin May 26, 2026. Although the Nurse Anesthetist Program uses a hybrid format, in-person coursework is required every semester. Students should plan to be on campus by May 26.
All interviews are held on the University at Buffalo South Campus. Location details are provided in the confirmation email.
