Deborah Raines, associate professor in the University at Buffalo School of Nursing, has been recognized by Elsevier for her dedication to providing outstanding clinical education.

Raines is the recipient of the 2016 ELSIE Award for Excellence in Clinical Education, an honor for faculty who recognize the importance of student clinical encounters, and who strive through dedication and innovation to make these encounters valuable learning experiences for nursing students. Raines' work centers on innovative educational strategies and program evaluation and workforce development; perinatal/neonatal care; and technology and teaching/learning. She reinforces to her students the value of academic and professional integrity and a strong work ethic commitment.
