School of Nursing achieves stellar NCLEX pass rates for 2023

University at Buffalo School of Nursing is pleased to announce outstanding pass rates for its accelerated (ABS) one year second degree and traditional Bachelor of Science in nursing programs on the 2023 National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The results underscore the school’s unwavering commitment to excellence in nursing education at UB and commitment to lifelong learning reflecting our steadfast dedication and pride in maintaining high standards.

The ABS program achieved an exceptional 100% pass rate, and the traditional program saw a 98.5% pass rate on the 2023 NCLEX-RN, a testament to the commitment of students, faculty and staff in maintaining the highest standards of education and preparing nurses for successful careers in health care. This accomplishment reflects the program's effectiveness in providing a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for success in the nursing profession where patient centered care is paramount.

UB School of Nursing exceeds both national and state averages, further highlighting the institution's commitment to producing highly qualified and competent nursing professionals who provide safe and effective care to individuals and communities. For context, the 2023 national NCLEX-RN pass rate is 88.6%, according to the latest available data. The pass rate in New York State is 84.4%.

"We are thrilled to see our graduates achieve such remarkable success on the NCLEX-RN,” says Annette Wysocki, dean of the UB School of Nursing. “These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, faculty and staff, as well as the effectiveness of our innovative and comprehensive nursing programs to educate the most competent health care providers in the nation."
