This program offers in-depth training in mental health across the lifespan. Students gain advanced skills to assess, diagnose and plan treatments for psychiatric disorders and co-morbid conditions. The curriculum includes prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications, implementing psychotherapy, and promoting health and illness prevention.
Students residing out of state should first contact their state board of nursing to determine eligibility for licensure in your state. If you need additional clarification, please contact the School of Nursing Office of Student Services.
Admissions evaluations and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. The Nursing Core courses may or may not be waived based on admitted student’s work experience and/or time since completing his/her previous nursing program(s).
All application materials are submitted online through the application portal, except for official transcripts. Please do not upload any screenshots of transcripts.
Ensure that your transcripts are sent to SUNY University at Buffalo, not to SUNY Buffalo State University.
