This page is specifically geared toward the advisement needs of our current RN to BS, intended and approved majors.
Students typically begin at UB as intended nursing majors while they are completing their prerequisite coursework and preparing to apply to the nursing program (upper division). Students are eligible to apply January they have met the minimum course requirements and the minimum GPA requirements. Most intended nursing majors typically apply for the Traditional BS program in January of their sophomore year.
Academic advising appointments are available in-person, by Zoom, or by phone. They can be scheduled by current nursing students in Navigate.
Many advising questions can be answered quickly via email. You can email questions to nursing@buffalo.edu or an academic advisor. Please include your name and person number in your email.
Virtual drop-in hours will be offered during the week of add/drop and the week of each semester’s resign deadline. Current students can check their Intended Nursing UBLearns course for the link and days/times.
Group advisement opportunities are available in both the fall and spring semesters to assist with schedule planning and pathways. Students can also schedule individual appointments via Navigate should they have specific questions pertaining to their schedule.
Current students should check their Intended Nursing UBLearns course for advisement and registration resources

This course contains documents, links and resources to help with student success, completion of requirements and the application process. If you do not see the course in your UBLearns account, please e-mail nursing@buffalo.edu to request enrollment and include your UB username.
At the School of Nursing, we do not assign advisors for our intended nursing majors; instead we take a team approach to advisement. You can meet with either of our undergraduate advisors. Please note that it is the student's responsibility to seek advisement.
