Intended Nursing Students

Students typically begin at UB as intended nursing majors while they are completing their prerequisite coursework and preparing to apply to the nursing program (upper division). Students are eligible to apply January they have met the minimum course requirements and the minimum GPA requirements. Most intended nursing majors typically apply for the Traditional BS program in January of their sophomore year. 

Traditional and ABS Students

Approved nursing majors are UB students who have been officially accepted into the nursing program to begin upper division course work. 

RN to BS Students

RN to BS majors are students who have earned an associate degree in nursing and hold an RN license or are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. This is a 100% online program that can be completed in one or two years.

Prospective Students (Non-UB)

High School students and Transfer students should attend a Traditional Nursing Program Information Session and review the UB Admissions website.

Transfer students who believe they are ready to apply directly to the Traditional or Accelerated nursing programs should  attend a Traditional Nursing Program Information Session, review our Admissions webpage, and contact our Admissions Coordinator for more information.
